Career Path
Navigant has four levels leading to Director: Consultant, Senior Consultant, Managing Consultant and Associate Director. Since the start of the company, our philosophy has been to grow primarily by attracting top talent from leading campuses into the entry-level Consultant position and to provide opportunities for advancement. In addition, we have taken advantage of opportunities to hire experienced people to further enhance our market position. Each new hire enters at a level commensurate to his/her prior experience.
Our goal is to attract, train and develop qualified people to continue to build for the future. Advancement from entry-level Consultant through Director is based upon performance. Each individual’s career experiences, contributions and challenges are unique. Since we fully expect the people we select to succeed, we have a vested interest in your professional development. Managing Director
Successfully develops and manages new business to Navigant standards. Demonstrates leadership within the Practice. Promotes staff development. Makes decisions in accordance with fiduciary responsibilities to stakeholders (clients, employees and shareholders).
Director
Overall engagement manager for large clients. Develops personnel. Manages client relationship(s). Provides subject matter expertise. Increased expectations for new business development, sales and marketing for non-subject matter experts.
Associate Director
Manages projects and engagements of all sizes and durations, supervises and develops Navigant personnel, manages client interaction and expectations. Contributes to chain-linked business development with existing clients. May develop business with new clients.
Managing Consultant
Manages all facets of small to medium sized engagements, or components of large engagements, including staff supervision, client interaction and relationship building. Develops work plans and assists with marketing and/or proposal development.
Senior Consultant
Performs more advanced data research, management and analysis. Reviews work product of junior staff and has more frequent client interaction. Prepares and makes presentations to communicate results. May assist project leaders with development of work plans. May supervise the work of others.
Consultant
Performs data research, collection, preparation, analysis and management using appropriate tools and technologies. May review work product of junior staff and have some limited client interaction.
