Raising our Hands: Creating a National Strategy for Children's Right to Education and Counsel October 23, 2009 The American Bar Association Section of Litigation Children's Rights Litigation Committee (CRLC) will be hosting an important national summit to advance the critical issue of a human right to counsel for children focusing on exclusion from education, and abuse and neglect cases. Lawyers from around the country will gather to develop an analysis and plan a national strategy that promotes the right to counsel for children. Participants will include full time children’s lawyers and policy advocates, judges, legislators, pro bono lawyers, law firms focused on children's legal issues, law school clinicians and professors, and law students. For more information about the summit, or to assist with planning, please contact the CRLC Committee Director, whose information is below. Please look for more details about the summit in the next few months. |
