Investigations

White Collar Crime

White Collar investigations and litigation continue their steady increase. These complex and high stakes matters require multi-disciplinary teams who have deep experience analyzing allegations of financial fraud and accounting misstatements, and responding to inquiries by regulatory agencies. Working with counsel and their clients, we offer deep experience and capabilities in white collar investigations and litigation to uncover the facts, provide early case assessments, and provide support through discover and trial – particularly in matters involving allegations of accounting misstatements and financial fraud.

Our role in these assignments is typically as specialized resources for companies, management, individual defendants, auditors, and in some cases regulators. Our work typically involves significant document review; accounting and forensic analysis; deposition and trial preparation and support; and in some cases, expert testimony on accounting and reporting issues. We have supported major white collar litigation involving millions of pages of documents, and lengthy, complex trials.

Consisting of former government accounting and enforcement staff, as well as former Big Four audit partners and practice directors, our team possesses decades of deep, technical accounting expertise. Unlike the large accounting firms, Navigant Consulting does not provide audit services and therefore, has the independence that white collar crime investigations and disputes necessitate.
